About Us
About Us
Founded in 2020, Locally-Led Action for Development & Empowerment (LADE) is a pioneering non-governmental organization committed to transforming humanitarian and development practice by placing communities at the heart of decision-making. We design and deliver community-owned, evidence-based programs in conflict-affected, remote, and underserved regions where traditional actors often struggle to reach.
At LADE, we believe that the most sustainable solutions emerge when affected people are not just beneficiaries, but leaders and co-creators. Our approach deliberately shifts decision making, resources, and accountability closer to the people we serve.
By combining local trust and access with robust systems in safeguarding, finance, procurement, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL), we ensure that assistance is timely, effective, and responsive to real needs. We partner with communities, local and national authorities, traditional and faith leaders, and coordination mechanisms to deliver life-saving assistance, resilience-building services, and longterm capacity strengthening.
Our model is anchored in inclusion, accountability, and adaptive learning, ensuring that every intervention generates measurable impact while empowering communities to thrive independently.
Our Mission
Our mission is to work hand in hand with communities to design, resource, and scale solutions that are rooted in local realities and aspirations. By fostering genuine partnerships, we aim to save lives in times of crisis, uphold and protect fundamental rights, and strengthen the systems that sustain wellbeing. Every initiative we support is community-driven, ensuring relevance, ownership, and long-term impact.
Our Vision
We envision a future where communities are empowered to determine their own course toward safety, dignity, and resilience. In this future, people are not passive recipients of aid but active leaders who shape and sustain solutions for themselves and future generations. Through empowerment, solidarity, and equity, we see lasting resilience becoming a lived reality for every community we serve.
Our Values
