Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience
LADE prioritizes community-led initiatives that build resilience to climate shocks. We support reforestation, natural resource management, and renewable energy solutions such as solar water pumping. Disaster preparedness is strengthened through anticipatory action, early warning systems, and local hazard calendars that allow communities to act before crises peak. Preparedness is central to our model.
LADE strengthens community-based early warning systems (EWS) by linking local observations with meteorological data, training disaster management committees, and developing seasonal hazard calendars. These tools allow communities to anticipate floods, droughts, and pests and take protective action before crises peak.
We also work at the policy and systems level, advocating for the integration of climate resilience into local development plans and supporting government actors with data, training, and coordination platforms that strengthen disaster risk reduction (DRR) frameworks.
In all our climate work, we emphasize inclusion and equity, ensuring that women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups are not only beneficiaries but leaders in climate action. This inclusive approach guarantees that adaptation strategies are both sustainable and socially just.
