Health and Nutrition
LADE strengthens access to quality health services by integrating WASH, nutrition, and public health efforts. We focus on safe environments, informed behaviors, and effective referral systems to ensure no one is left behind. Our health programs emphasize outbreak preparedness and response, working with local health authorities and community volunteers to raise awareness on cholera, AWD, malaria, and other diseases. We combine these efforts with hygiene promotion and safe water initiatives to reduce infections during emergencies.
We prioritize maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), supporting safe delivery practices, antenatal care, exclusive breastfeeding, and nutrition. In partnership with health facilities, we improve referral pathways for pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. LADE trains community health volunteers (CHVs) to provide early disease detection, health promotion, and referral services, especially in remote areas.
We also promote nutrition through campaigns on balanced diets and support households with supplementary feeding and kitchen gardens, particularly in drought and displacement-affected areas. Our health interventions are inclusive, addressing barriers faced by persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.
We strengthen referral networks to connect them to specialized care, including psychosocial and GBV services. By integrating these efforts, LADE not only meets immediate health needs but also builds community resilience, preparing populations to better prevent, withstand, and recover from health crises.
